With an emphasis on pain management, we ensure that your pets are safe and comfortable throughout the treatment process. After the procedure is done, we are also here to help you and your pet throughout recovery. We know how difficult it is to take your pet in for surgery. Our caring staff is committed to being there for you and your pet when you need us most.
Pre- & Post-Surgery
Our veterinary technicians will monitor your pets’ vital signs during their surgery and afterward as they recover. Preoperative blood analysis, intraoperative IV fluid administration, and intensive patient monitoring during and after surgery ensure the highest level of safety for our surgical patients. Multimodal pain management (the use of multiple medications targeting pain in different ways) before, during, and after surgery provides the highest level of comfort for your pet if surgery is required.

We understand that surgery is a serious matter. Know that your pets’ safety is of the utmost importance to us. After performing a complete examination, our doctors will discuss treatment options that may or may not include surgery, depending on the course of action that best suits the needs of both you and your pet. If surgery is necessary, we will conduct pre-anesthetic blood work to determine if your pets can safely go under anesthesia.
We ask that you withhold your pets’ food the night prior to their surgery as pets on an empty stomach are less likely to vomit during surgery.
In-Patient Post-Surgical Stays
We recommend that most surgery patients stay the night so that we can monitor them and safeguard their well-being. Stronger postoperative pain medication can be given to patients spending the night at the clinic. Before your pets leave, our doctors will perform an exit examination to make sure that they are doing well and poised for recovery. Most patients will go home with oral pain medications for you to give them for several days after surgery.
